| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the meanings of the phrase "raising the bar" and "taking it to the next level" in regards to golf course maintenance. States that "more times than not, a desire to `raise the bar' ends up being translated into some type of change that improves the appearance or presentation of the golf course. Also states that "pursuing excellence on a few areas is a much better strategy for most golf courses" as opposed to creating many average areas. Provides suggestions on how to improve the playability of the golf course including architectural integrity, tees, fairways, and putting greens. |
