Abstract/Contents: | Examines "the significance of plant nutrition from a more detailed perspective." Stresses that the turf industry needs to catch up when it comes to soil science and testing methods. Points out that "testing of soils and plant tissue in turf situations should not be regarded as the holy grail" due to differences "that may exist between cultivars and species in relation to other nutrients necessary for plant growth." Discusses the effects of differing pH levels on various bentgrass species. Also discusses nutrient application on turf growing in shadowed areas. Emphasizes that "experience and knowledge of these subjects is the key to manipulating nutrition to get a turf surface to reach its potential." |
