Abstract/Contents:Describes the increase of brown patch and other fungal disease occurances in Western Australia. Explains the importance of using a well balanced fertilizer to prevent the early development of brown patches. Suggests applying water to grass in heavier quantities, with longer periods inbetween the waterings. States that "a safe rule to follow in connection with the suppression and prevention of fungal disease of grasses, as with all other plants, is `water heavily, but infrequently, rather than a little and often.'" Describes the preparation and use of a new fungicide mixture, containing copper sulphate, water and potash. States that "while it is yet too early to state how permanent will be the results which have been obtained, very marked benefits have already been observed."
