Abstract/Contents:Profiles ki-kuyu grass. Discusses the uses and advantages of ki-kuyu grass, focusing on ki-kuyu's ability to choke out paspalum. States that "ki-kuyu is well adapted to such districts as are suitable to growth of common paspalum, and will, once firmly established, choke out the latter grass." Explains that ki-kuyu grass thrives in soil rich in organic matter, and that it can withstand dry periods, but thrives better in locations that receive evenly distributed rainfall. Describes the increased use of ki-kuyu grass in many outer suburbs of Sydney.
