Abstract/Contents:Describes the phenomenon of "spontaneous perspiration." Discusses putting green performances on bentgrass greens, stating that "golf courses where superintendents lost control of the amount of water applied to the greens suffered the most...in the areas where putting greens struggled from moisture and heat stress, either poorly draining soil or soil made to drain poorly from inadequate aeration were other common denominators associated with poor performance." Discusses the putting green performance on bermudagrass greens, stating that "spring transition and recovery was a big challenge on some golf courses. Once the bermudagrass was grown in, maintenance of plant health and playability was not too difficult." Discusses summer turfgrass diseases, explaining that "diseases observed and reported throughout this summer include the usual suspects: brown patch, dollar spot, fairy ring, and small amounts of anthracnose."
