Describes The Golf Club at Briar's Creeks' recent honor of receiving signature status from Audubon International, which "is distinctly different from that of certified Audubon sanctuary, and immensely more difficult to achieve. It requires Audubon's active involvement in planning, constructing, and during the ongoing golf course operation." Explains that "The Golf Club at Briar's Creek is a Rees Jones design that occupies about 300 acres of a 900-acre property with designs on becoming on of the most exclusive golf developments on the East Coast." Describes the nature and wildlife present at the golf course, including oak trees, wood stork, wood duck, ibis, blue heron, hawks, bluebirds, white-tailed deer, bobcats, alligators and a nesting bald eagle. States that "a large wetland runs the length of the golf course, with eight holes on the ocean side." Discusses the turfgrass maintenance, fertilizer applications and mowing frequencies used on the golf course. |
