Abstract/Contents: | "The aim of the so-called "dynamic" or "particulate" type of base construction has been to produce a surface which matches, as nearly as possible, the characteristics of natural turf. A natural soil/sand base is linked with a synthetic surface material to produce a pitch which has the playing characteristics of natural turf, while retaining the wear characteristics of synthetic materials. The principles underlying such constructions are discussed, together with the advantages and problems associated with dynamic bases." |
