Abstract/Contents: | "The extended logistic model has proven very useful in describing forage production for both warm-season and cool-season grasses since it was introduced in 1994. Work continues on identifying the linkage of model parameters with components of the physical system. In this article data from the literature for three forage grasses, Coastal and Midland bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon L.) and KY 31 tall fescue (F. arundinacea Schreb.), grown on the same soil are used to compare model parameters. Two of the parameters relate to the genetics of the plants, while the others appear to depend upon both plant and soil properties." |
