| Abstract/Contents: | "Since 1982, a series of grass variety and chemical suppression trials have been conducted by extension agents and research colleagues using dwarf cultivars and sublethal rates of postemergence herbicides to minimize management requirements for reducing soil erosion and improving soil management practices. Several perennial ryegrasses and sheep fescues have performed well under extremely diverse soil and climatic conditions. Chemical mowing results suggest enhanced sensitivity with spring and late fall applications of low rates ranging from 0.01 to 0.25 lbs ai/A of fluazifop-butyl-p, sethoxydim and glyphosate. Results of seasonal variation, adjuvants, and soil moisture use in 6 or more crops will be reported." |
