| Abstract/Contents: | "Results from the frit fly trial were published in Gräs-Tips 1968-1971. The trial was performed also in 1972. There were no hard attacks by the frit fly larva but only a few symptoms registered. None of the control sprayings could be proved effective in 1972. In practice, however, several attacks have been seen during the vegetation period. The most serious ones appeared in August-September. So there were good possibilities to test the results from the trial in 1971. Once again the insecticide diazinone gave better results than the dimethoat-type. We have seen the attacks of the frit fly larva during three years. There are all reasons to be aware of the fly in the future. Damages might be serious, but are easy to avoid by spraying, i. e. with diazinone. It is, however, necessary to spray in proper time. Therefore rapid examination of the symptoms is very valuable." |
