| Abstract/Contents: | "The two experiments with steeping red fescue seed in a fertilizer solution have proved clear effects on the germination capacity. The results from Experiment No 2 indicate that special attention should be paid to the choice of fertilizer. It is obvious that the steeping time should be as short as possible. The cellulose seems to have a buffering effect on the germination inhibition. These experiments are made in the laboratory. Therefore the data should not be converted directly into practical conditions. The germination inhibition which was found in these experiments are also present in practice, although usually to a less pronounced extent." |
