| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses research conducted at the University of Minnesota "to not only promote water conservation in turf systems, but more importantly to better understand turfgrass water use trends and identify irrigation practices which result in optimum plant-soil-water relations." Assesses "data captured from ECH20 soil moisture sensors to conserve water and define best management practices for turf irrigation." Mentions the use of lysimeters, climate data, and the FAO 56 evapotranspiration model in evaluating soil moisture sensor efficiency. Suggests that sensor technology "will benefit the turfgrass industry immensely in the future." |
