Abstract/Contents:Discusses possible reasons for insecticide failure, including unrealistic expectations, misdiagnosis of a turf problem, and misidentification of an insect problem. Provides possible suggestions for improving pesticide performance, including applying the product when the insect is at the most susceptible stage, applying at the right time of day, and using water before application. Concludes that when insects develop resistance to an insecticide, they often automatically develop resistance to others in the same chemical class. Reminds greenkeepers to rotate the use of insecticides.
