Abstract/Contents:States that several cultivars of the major turfgrass species were established in plot 21 x 145 ft at the Turf Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Nineteen grasses were treated with several plant growth regulators (PGRs) on April 26th. Four treatments were executed and applied at 21.4 gal/acre and short stop (Eptam) 10% ai granular at 60 lb/acre. A 1-9 scale was adopted with nine being dark green and one being brown. Embark produced the lowest scores of all PGR's while controlling seedheads well. A combination of a 1/3 rate of Embark plus 1/3 rate of ACP2110 often caused less discoloration and largest differences among cultivars of a species because of PGR application came from Kentucky bluegrass and fine fescues.
