Abstract/Contents: | States that overseeding and testing on an actual golf course help find varieties and blends of grasses that meet specific needs of the individual golf course. Wear tolerance, color preference, putting quality and speed, disease resistance factors, rate of establishment, and transitional qualities can all be evaluated for suitability and for choosing preferred turf aspects. By conducting these tests at the course itself, conditions of soil, weather, and management can be evaluated firsthand. Discusses several observations of cynodon, fertilizers, mowing practices, lolium cultivars, and topdressing. |
