Abstract/Contents: | Provides definitions of turf quality as criteria for turfgrass certification. Consumer's guarantee of varietal trueness: getting what he pays for, freedom of noxious weeds, apparent (no 100% guarantee for seasonal variance) freedom of insects and disease, good holding qualities, acceptable color, and proper transplanting ability are the main criteria. Discussion of consumer reaction to available quality turfgrass is presented with regard to the industry, business, and personal awareness. |
