| Abstract/Contents: | A study was conducted to evaluate three soil inoculants recently marketed for turfgrass use: Planterra, Soil Master, and Genesis II applied to cynodon Tifway 419. Control for nematodes and Herpetogramma was used, but not within 2 weeks of inoculant application. All plots received nutrients of P, K, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, B, and Mo and were rated visually every four weeks for color and density. Mowing practices and clipping removal were done. Results indicate no major differences by rate of application but notes significant nitrogen responses. Discusses inoculants were not of much benefit in this study, the short comings of soil inoculant marketing, product identification and representation, and turf manager dilemmas. |
