Abstract/Contents:Addresses the problem of finding time for proper maintenance due to the busy schedule many golf courses are forced to keep. Suggests that in order to establish an acceptable and workable balance between golf and maintenance, the following subjects may require attention: support, education, level of play, course policy document, maintenance practices, and resources. Concludes that "if too much golf is permitted and insufficient maintenance is performed...a decline in course condition is inevitable".
