Abstract/Contents:"In 2002 we investigated various techniques to examine and handle cranefly larvae and adults. The presence of adult craneflies/larvae damage appears to be in localized areas and not extensive. Few adults were noted in scattered localities of the Lower Mainland. These observation were incidental and not as part of an extensive survey. The fall efficacy trials are underway and plots will be examined in June-July of 2003. A nematode efficacy trial for bio-control of mature cranefly larva was run and techniques were developed. Cranefly larval emergence from eggs was determined to be 30 days at room temperature (20C). Petri-dish trials indicate that nematodes are capable of controlling newly emerged cranefly larvae."
