| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the fungus genus Gaeumannomyces. Describes the life cycle of the fungus and how it is "the causal agent of TAP [take-all patch] on bentgrass." Discusses the effect of soil pH, nutrients and micronutrients on the organism, G. graminis var. tritici. Explains that "Gaeumannomyces graminis (Sacc.) Arx & D. Oliver var. graminis (Ggg) is considered the most important causal agent of bermudagrass decline, a significant root-rot disease of Cynodon species." Explains how Ggg infects the host tissue. Describes what conditions are favored by Ggg and how to control the spread of the disease. Discusses the effect of "take-all root rot of St. Augustinegrass." Discusses fungicides available for disease control. |
