| Abstract/Contents: | This study reports turf quality ratings for Kentucky 31 and four improved cultivars of tall fescue; Falcon, Houndog, Mustang, and Rebel, established in 1982. Each cultivar is maintained at 2- and 3-inch mowing height and is fertilized with urea at 0, 2, and 4 lbs N/1000 ft2 year. The improved cultivars had better turf quality then Kentucky 31. Rebel and Mustang produced the highest quality turf. All cultivars produced higher quality turf at the 2-inch clipping height. |
