| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses an outbreak of anthracnose at Ridgewood Country Club (RCC) in Paramus, New Jersey, in 2001. Details the repair process, including the removal of trees to prevent further anthracnose damage. Also discusses preventative methods, stating that "changes began quickly as [they] brought in the aerifers in early March 2002...nearly 40 of the surface area [was affected] through a combination of knives, conventional aeration, the Graden and the Verti-drain." Discusses the use of plant protectors and Plant Growth Regulators (PGR) on the course. Concludes that "2002 was a very successful year for RCC. Anthracnose developed on a few greens in late June, but it never took hold." |
