Abstract/Contents:Discusses the importance of good pace on a golf course and states that "a bumpy green is unacceptable whether it be fast or slow, firm or soft". Describes major treatments necessary to "establish a uniform surface again after the effects of winter play". Discusses the pros and cons of the Stimpmeter. Concludes that "the key to consistent well paced putting surfaces is that green speed must be both attainable and sustainable".
