| Abstract/Contents: | "Higher application rates of water soluble nitrogen stimulated the development of fairy rings (Tricholoma sordidum Fr.) in a mature 'Merion' Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis L.) turf. The stimulation occurred in plots receiving 3.9 kg or more of nitrogen per are applied annually. Although the increase in Tricholoma fairy ring development was associated with a general decrease in the soil pH, the response was attributed to the more direct effect of the nitrogen fertility level." |
