| Abstract/Contents: | SUMMARY: Due to the fact that sports grounds systems approach the stage of natural greens, specific knowledge is required of the local conditions, such as type of soil, water conditions, climate, detrimental influences and anticipated follow-up measures to develop optimum conditions for the laying out of sports grounds. The cost of this investigation is very low, compared with the cost of laying out the ground and is easily recovered through the optimation of the constructional system and the prevention of damage. |
