Abstract/Contents: | Ecological methods of protection in road and water engineering are popular today and will be in the future. Even in the past, biological methods of protection were used successfully by utilizing various spraying methods such as "greening over" and the consolidations. Classical constructions with living materials were developed especially for brook and river regulations. Technical knowledge along with soil and plants as building materials were combined to protect against erosion. Constructions with living materials are also used frequently for the noise protection range on Federal highways and motorways. |
