Abstract/Contents:Focuses on criteria for compost classification. Suggests observing the Rocky Mountain Region for a good example of a classification system. States that Compost Classification System (CGS) has three areas of evaluation when classifying a compost: Analytical, Manufacturing and Application/Risk Assessment and offers a description of each of these areas. Describes four classes of composts by providing how composted it is, what it is made of, how well it helps with germination and nutrient levels. Also lists application recommendations for each of the classes as well as characteristics of them.
