Abstract/Contents:Discusses the process of preparing a bermudagrass golf green for overseeding and the cultural practices that are involved. The subsequent spring transition back to bermudagrass starts with spiking and open hole core cultivation. Herbicides to control unwanted grass species should also be applied at this time in early spring before temperatures reach 20° - 30°C. The management of thatch under ½'' thick is also critical to maintain a quality bermudagrass turf where a fast and effective transition from dormancy can take place.
