| Abstract/Contents: | Describes a study "to develop more complete information on bermudagrass nutrition, physiological responses, morphology, and management practices subsequent to fertilizer application, In addition, methods used to evaluate turfgrass responses to nutritional practices were investigated for improvement." Concludes that "nitrogen nutrition influences top growth and stored energy levels in turfgrass tissues. Excessive nitrogen levels appear to lower the stored energy reserves in the spring and throughout the entire growing season. Based on these results, management practices should be structured to apply the minimum amount of nitrogen fertilizer that will maintain turfgrass vigor and the necessary nitrogen reserves." |
