Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the development of a preliminary grading plan in golf course construction. Describes the need to fit a golf hole in with the existing topography. Discusses environmental regulations and permitting issues that can affect grading and construction of a golf course. COncludes that "the topography of the site, environmental impact regulations and practical economic limitations all are important considerations in the development of a preliminary grading plan for a golf course...the successful golf course architect must perform a balancing act as the incorporation of these various elements is tried and tested until all the requirements are satisfied." |
