Abstract/Contents: | Describes what to do when finding a hurt wild raptor("eagles, hawks, owls and other birds of prey") on the golf course. Explains that injured birds are "not uncommon" and that "all raptors are protected by federal law... {and} injured birds must be handled with care, not only to prevent further harm to the bird, but also to protect the would-be helper against being attacked." Discusses Dan Dinelli's (superintendent at North Shore Country Club in Illinois) experiences with raptors. Suggests making your golf course a sight for release after wildlife rehabilitation. |
