Abstract/Contents:Focuses on how to keep your golf course running and near-perfect while dealing with problems that hit turf during the summer months. Suggests looking at the cost of firing a superintendent in order to gain perfection on a course and goes through the costs of doing so. Discusses things that will need to be done if decided that a new superintendent is needed. Briefly summarizes the cycle that takes place once a new superintendent has been hired and the results of it. Suggests providing the superintendent with the right means to grow and keep good turf will be the most effective in breaking this cycle. Also suggests dealing with occasional disruptions instead of going to extremes right away.
