| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the City of Fredricksburg's new sports facility complex. Describes the planning that occurred, stating that "the first requirement of the project was the master plan. To create the special composition of the sports-facility complex, Land Planning & Design Associates, Inc. of Charlottesville worked with our sports and maintenance staff to design roadways, bathrooms, parking lots, controlled access, and comprehensive maintenance facility and a uniquely located wetland area." Discusses the drainage and irrigation of the sports complex. Explains how the type of topsoil and the variety of grass were selected. States that "with athletic fields made like golf-course greens, and the appropriate maintenance program required to maintain their quality, the City of Fredicksburg hopes to eventually boast of having the highest quality and most unique local-government mulitpurpose outdoor sports complex in the state of Virginia." |
