Describes Acclaim-resistant crabgrass, Simazine-resistant annual bluegrass and other herbicide-resistant cases. Explains herbicide resistance, stating that it refers to "a weed species that was previously controlled by a given herbicide but is no longer being controlled." Explains how herbicide resistance develops, and the factors that lead to herbicide resistance. Presents steps to reduce the potential for herbicide resistance to develop, including "utilize nonchemical controls where possible." Presents examples of herbicide rotations and tank mixes to aid in the avoidance of herbicide resistance.
