Abstract/Contents:Presents a study conducted in Texas to "evaluate 25 commonly used turfgrass herbicides for their effect on regrowth or re-establishment of Tifway bermudagrass, Raleigh St. Augustinegrass, and Palisade zoysiagrass." Presents the methods used in this study. Discusses the phytotoxicity results, stating that "several herbicides showed significant injury within a few days after treatments were applied but did not affect regrowth and harvestability." Discusses the ribbon recovery and harvestability results for each species of turfgrass. Summarizes that "sod growers need to be aware of potential herbicidal injury that can occur through the use of herbicides. Only those herbicides labeled specifically for the turfgrass species should be used in production."
