Abstract/Contents:Describes "a versatile, simplified, science-based system fo rmaking environmental quality assessments and linking outcomes to remedial management." States that "golf courses present perhaps one of the best living laboratories for the systematic study and monitoring of environmental quality from which the improvement of other natural, large-scale ecosystems can be modeled." The Colbert-Thien Environmental and Evaluation Management system (CTEEM) is named for the Colbert Hills Golf Course, which was constructed on a native grassland site and serves as a research station. Describes how the CTEEM system can be applied to a golf course, and provides examples involving soil and water quality.
