| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the selection, installation and maintenance of hose and hose assmeblies. Presents "a list of factors which must be considered before final hose selection can be made" including pressure, suction, temperature, fluid compatibility, size, routing, environment, mechanical loads, abrasion, proper end fitting, length, specifications and standards, hose cleanliness, electrical conductivity and high pressure gas. Presents a list of factors that must be considered by the installer, including pre-installation inspection, following manufacturer's assembly instructions, minimum bend radius, twist angle and orientation, securement, proper connection of ports, avoiding external damage and system check out. Presents qualities of a good hose maintenance program, including hose storage, visual inspections and functional tests. |
