Abstract/Contents:"The first RSM turf was published in 1979 after having been set up by a subject matter committee. Ever since, it has been published annually, up-dated properly. For the different types of turf, first 10, meanwhile about 20 mixtures with several variants have been developed. They correspond meanwhile to the accepted rules of technique. The composition of the mixtures of the individual types of turf and those of golf turf and biotops is characterized by the application of experimental results and the resistance to treading and (low) cutting. Critically discussed is also their qualification. Of an RSM experiment, which started in 1986, the turf was examined after the use over a period of 18 years as to the extent to which it had been covered by the individual types of grasses. The result was then compared with the initial sowing. The result after a period of 25 years is definitely positive. It is to be hoped that the Federal Plant Registration. Office will continue to perform neutral tests of the new varienties so that the working team of the FLL will be able to use these findings also in future to develop suitable mixtures."
