Abstract/Contents: | Describes the cause of dollarspot and suggests that it is "one of the most serious diseases affecting Florida turfgrasses". States that the prevalent time for the disease to present itself is during the spring and fall months. Discusses potential control methods, including the use of fungicides, noting it is especially beneficial with fungicides containing cadmium. Cautions that using these substances is inadvisable for livestock grazing regions. Presents a study conducted "to determine if nitrogen reduced dollarspot severity and, if so, how much was required to do so." Reports that "providing bermudagrass with an adequate supply of nitrogen can be recommended as a practical control for dollarspot." |
