Abstract/Contents:Discusses the use of surfactants on actual greens in various soil conditions. Presents a study "to find out if surfactants were harmful to turf, to see what effects they had on dew, and to see if they did or did not do what the various salesmen and manufacturers claimed." Results include that "during the whole summer I didn't not observe any softening up or greening up of the greens... and I failed to see any difference as to improved water intake or water drainage." Concludes that there are some benefits for the use of surfactants, including aiding "in the effectiveness of spraying fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides... reducing dew on greens and lessen [lessening] the chance of fungus infections."
