Abstract/Contents:"This trial was conducted at the edge of a soccer field at Holderness School, Holderness, NH. The grass was mowed at 2 in. All treatments were applied on 6 Aug to 24.5-ft² plots, four replicates per treatment, in a RCB design. Application of treatments were made using a 2-wheel bicycle boom sprayer equipped with four 8005 nozzles, fitted with 50-mesh screens. The volume of water and insecticide mix per plot was 2 gal/1000 ft², delivered with CO₂ pressure at 40 psi. Naturalis-T plots were irrigated before and after treatment with 0.2 in of water. Chinch bugs in the plots were predominantly 3^D]r^D]d instar to adult. Weather conditions were as follows: air temp, 75°F; sky, hazy; wind, <5mph. Soil conditions were as follows: surface temp, 73°F; at 1-inch depth, 69.4°F; at 3-inch, 67.1°F; thatch depth (natural), 0.25 inch; soil pH, 5.1; moisture, 10.8%; organic matter, 9.2%; texture, loam; sand, 36%; silt, 49%; clay, 15%. The plots were rated for live bugs 5 DAT (11 Aug) using the cylinder/floatation method. None of the treatments were significantly different from the checks due to population variability."
