Abstract/Contents: | "The practice of controlling weeds in or near water, however, is less well understood. Indeed, many people are unaware of the fact that certain chemicals can be used to control weeds in aquatic situations. Many types of water exist, from rivers, lakes and streams to drainage ditches, canals and ponds. The uses to which such waters are put are numerous, and those considered in this article have an amenity use. This includes sailing and waterski-ing lakes, ornamental and boating ponds, streams, lakes and ditches which may be found in parks or on golf courses. All have the potential to support weed growth which may interfere with their intended use." This article covers: appearance, Algae, Recommended chemicals, Examples and Injected. Includes a table for target plants and chemical to use. |
