Abstract/Contents:Profiles the Warren crocus (Romulea columnae), technically known as the sand crocus, found in "the Dawlish Warren in south Devon, a small area surrounding the Exe Estuary just south of Exeter, in particular... the Warren Golf Course within this site". Describes the efforts of the golf course staff to protect the Warren crocus. Concludes that "the Warren Golf Course demonstrates the importance of golf courses within the SSSI and RAMSAR schemes, and how the legal protection of plants can lead to the success of those plants and added national interest for the golf courses in question".
