| Abstract/Contents: | Presents research conducted to "develop sustainable and IPM [integrated pest management] compatible methods for the control of turfgrass insects, in particular the root-feeding white grubs." Explains that "Steinernema scarabaei, isolated from epizootics in Japanese beetle and oriental beetle larvae in central New Jersey, has shown exceptional potential for curative control of most white grub species in turfgrass including the oriental beetle." Mentions that "S. scarabaei has shown high efficacy and excellent persistence over a wide range of soil types and soil moisture conditions." |
