| Abstract/Contents: | Describes the effort devoted into creating different types of terrain, specifically sand bunkers. Compares sand bunkers now and sand bunkers many years ago. Discusses the public's perception of sand bunkers. Describes the difficulties of bunker care. Explains that sand type is an important factor in determining quality of bunkers. Discusses geotextile liners and the importance of having a quality liner in bunker renovation and construction. Describes some of the difficulties in using liners. Addresses the issue of drainage when reconstructing bunkers. Compares the benefits of using mechanical and manual raking. States the goal of working on bunkers is to provide "the best sand surface for golfers to play... and maintaining a natural look to the hazard." |
