| Abstract/Contents: | Describes the newest innovations in pop-up sprinkler technology, in particular of the model LVZE 22 WD of the Perrot-Regnerbau company. Such improvements include the capability of varying the intensity of water while spraying so that one area of the circle receives more water than another, the complete automatic control by computers which can read the moisture levels of the soil and turn the sprinklers on and off accordingly, and the capability to direct the sprinklers with such accuracy that the efficiency of water use can reach new levels. Other developments include the construction of sprinklers that have multiple nozzles, that have testing mechanisms to identify problems before actual irrigation begins, as well as sprinklers being out of nearly indestructible materials that minimize malfunctions or maintenance. |
