Abstract/Contents:"At the moment three substances are offered to produce a seed bed free from Poa annua seed; Methylbromid, Methylisothiocyanat Dichlorpropen Dichlorpropan and Dazomet. These substances differ in their consistence, technique of application and duration to act. They have been tested on their effectiveness in dependence on the given concentrations. On the plots (a humous fine sandy loam) 20 g/m2 of Poa annua have been sown on the 29th of April 1980. About ten days later Poa annua had emerged and the plots have been treated individually for each substance according to the prescription of the producer. In the middle of June 1980 the decontamination was finished. At the end of June a mixture of Festuca rubra species has been sown. Till the 1st of October 1980 only Methylbromid could restrict Poa annua significantly. Even the lowest tested concentration (corresponding to 25% of the producers recommendation) acted as good as the concentration according to the prescription."
