| Abstract/Contents: | Introduces sulfonylurea herbicides (SUs), an evolving class of herbicide chemistry. Suggests these products provide more weed control options than were available with other existing herbicides, including assistance with rogue rye, problem weeds, winter weed control, spring weed control, postemergence weed control, and managing the transition of overseeded ryegrass. In addition, SUs are not harmful to the environment. While SUs are safe on warm-season grasses, they may prove lethal to cool-season grasses. Warns that care should be taken to study the conditions and select the least toxic product available to control a pest problem. |
