Abstract/Contents:"Australian publications provide a summary of diseases of warm-season turfgrass in Australia but do not identify the recorded host ranges of the indigenous casual agents of published turfgrass diseases. Australian publications were searched to define the fugnal diseases that affect warm-season turfgrasses in Australia (Liffman, 1984; Wozniak, 1996; Neylan et. al., 2002). Two electronic databases, constructed from national herbarium records, were queried for records of selected species of warm-season turfgrass genera Axonopus, Cynodon, Bothriochloa, Buchloe, Dactyloctenium, Digitaria, Paspalum, Pennisetum, Sporobolus, Stenotaphrum and Zoysia. Approximately twenty diseases are recognised in Australian publications as warm-season turfgrass diseases. They include Rhizoctonia blight (formerly brown patch), Sclerotinia dollar spot, grey leaf spot, Helminthosporium blight diseases, and spring dead spot of Bermuda and other grasses. The casual agents of the diseases have been recorded on a wide range of warm-season turfgrass hosts throughout the world. The following is a list of prevalent disease/host records for Australia."
