| Abstract/Contents: | Lava is often used in grass pitches for the drainage layer or as a component of the root zone. Particle size analyses have shown that the particle size distribution does not always correspond with the lava sample provided. Similar discrepancies may also be apparent in permeability and water-holding capacity. A regular check on construction materials is therefore recommended. |
